The big news this week is that Isla officially began clapping on Friday, June 11th. It was like a light switch flipped and all of a sudden she knew what to do. She is SO proud of herself and now likes to clap for attention. She knows what the word "clap" means and will do it when asked. We entertain ourselves by asking her to alternate "clap" and then "shake shake shake" (which is what we call her heading shaking dance)....makes for an awesome show!
I think it is also worth mentioning that Isla managed to hit up 3 countries this week: France, Monaco and Italy.
We are lucky that this didn't happen earlier but Isla has figured out how to arch her back and fight being put in the stroller. It was great while it lasted!
Isla dipped her toes in the Mediteranean this week! I don't think she appreciated what people would give to be so priviledged (she whined and pulling up her feet, refusing to touch it again). To complete her beach experience, she also ate some sand and a couple tiny pebbles. I don't think we'll know just how many so got before we caught her for a couple of days....if ya know what I mean.
New foods for Isla Bear: kiwi, cantalope, olive tapinade, a couple bites of tuna, white beans, sausage (in cassoulet). She thought the first few bites of tuna were weird but then continued to eat more. She really is a bottomless pit!! We try to give her foods other than bread first because once she gets her hands on the bread, she wants little else. We were joking that she's going to have to go Atkins when we get home to make up for her major carb binge this trip (since bread is served at pretty much every meal).
Isla has had a bit of a runny nose this week. She also has had some consecutive nights of 2-3 AM wakenings. I'm wondering...is she finally getting a tooth? I'm doubtful, but it could be.
Over the past couple weeks, Isla has become a bit more clingy with me, reaching for me sometimes when even Graham is holding her. We'll see if it lasts...
