What do you get when you take 3 sets of newlyweds and give them 7 years time? NINE children!! That's what. This past weekend, we had the pleasure of doing a little weekend away with two other families over on Lake Entiat. Back when we were young newlyweds (even before we were married for Graham and I), we formed a small group with these couples and we met regularly for close to 5 years. We were fruitful and multiplied until the kids were too many to put down to bed at each others houses anymore and we were forced to take a break. We remained in touch and always talked about doing a reunion sometime and so when Rob and Darby extended the invitation to come stay at the gorgeous home they just finished building, we jumped at the chance. The weekend was incredibly relaxing and we spent the majority of the time eating and talking while the kids watched movies and ran around the yard and rode bikes and motorized cars.
The setting was gorgeous I tell you, gorgeous!
And our accommodations were AMAZING!
The kids got to go for a "tractor" ride AND swim in the 55 degree pool. The pool was much too cold for us adults so we threw all the kids in life jackets, told them to stay on the stairs, and hovered around the edge of the pool playing life guard.
Afterwards, the girls took a warm cleansing shower.
These kids are buds - I love it!
On Sunday we treated the kids to an Easter egg hunt around the yard.
Only a few of them cared that the eggs were empty...
Graham and I got to take the girls out in the canoe. We rowed out to a tiny little island where the Canadian Geese were laying their eggs.
The girls loved the boat and their only complaint was that we didn't stay out long enough.
Thanks Courters and Carlisles for a great weekend!
