Isla June Crozier

Isla June was born at 5:45 PM on August 25th. 7 pounds 4 oz, 19 inches, dark brown hair and blue eyes (we think). She's got daddy's hair (cowlicks) momma's nose and lips, and so far a very laid back personality. We're both blown away by God blessing us in this way. She's beautiful.

Isla (pronounced "eye-lah") is a river in Scotland. The name means "island". Her middle name's namesakes are both my Grandma Juna (a tireless servant of the Lord) and my Aunt June. June is also my (Graham's) favorite month as I eagerly await the transition to summer each year, so it felt appropriate for Isla as Kels and I eagerly await the changes and blessings of the new season in our lives that she'll bring. Here's some pics...
just admitted at 1 am after water broke at midnight. already 3cm and 80% effaced!
chilling out with Mom, our RN Helen, checking the monitor

Kels enjoying some "clear liquids" around 1:30 pm. It was easy going and she was really happy (almost giggling) and then the pitocin hit and woh... but 2 1/2 hours later...

and this popped out!

Under the warmer

Proud daddy and bundle of joy

The happy family. I didn't really capture it or do it justice but the sun was beginning to set, flooding the room with warm light. Kelsie, immediately after Isla was born had this amazing glow and was absolutely the most beautiful I've ever seen her.

Baby toes, umbi cord

Our Nurse Helen (didn't get a picture with her face) Didn't think Isla was gonna come on her shift (as was her goal) but Kelsie was such a speed demon we made it work! I was pretty impressed with our nurses, especially our triage nurse Lori, and the day charge Barb, but the whole L&D, Mother Baby was well oiled machine.

7 pounds 4.2 oz

  1. Wow, Kels - you are probably the most beautiful mama post-labor and birth. You look calm, cheerful and peaceful. Enjoy this time and accept help when someone offers.... believe me! So happy for you.
