Without a doubt, one of the best parts of welcoming a new baby into the world is the outpouring of love that follows from friends and family. (Hint to any of you expecting folk, I'm quite confident that keeping the gender a surprise results in even more post-birth attention, if that's what you're looking for). ;) I realized, while in labor, that if Graham went out to the waiting room to give the "It's a ____!!" announcement, that I would miss all the fun and excitement so I made him keep quiet until the visitors came into our room. Apparently he sent a very cryptic text to everyone that "Baby is here!" and left everyone in suspense for an hour while we got to know our little man, enjoying quiet skin to skin time and our first go at breastfeeding.
Then we welcomed in the doting fans! I think in total I counted 17 people who were there to meet Jack in his first couple of hours of life (Isla, Emma, G and G Wilson, G and G Crozier, Lani, Gideon and Lilly, Josh, Silver, Jon, Britta and Olivia, Jeremy, Rachel and Oliver). He is one loved little guy! Poor Grandpa Wilson had to wait nearly a week to hold him because of a nasty cold bug he didn't want to share. From the looks of the picture (above), it was worth the wait!
Later visitors included Olona, Jason & Earecka (not pictured), Mike & Nancy (not pictured), cousins Stew and Andrew (not pictured) and then John and Tash and Canon one we arrived at home.
I love this picture of these two friends, carefully handling precious cargo. :)
We are so grateful to be surround and supported by so many loved ones who make a big deal out of every new Crozier that enters the world. It means a lot to us! :)
